Occasionally we ask for a waiting list fee of $100, before breeding, to ensure we have enough serious people still on our very long waiting list. This will hold your place for 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. choice. We send out a mass text to all on the list with a time frame for a reply. If you do not reply within that time frame, those under you will be moved up the list with the option to claim their place in line.
Our holding fee of $300, which is different than waiting list fee, is non-refundable. If you paid a wait list fee, the additional fee is $200. This fee ($300 total) places a puppy on hold which removes them from the available list. Prior to accepting any fees, we will conduct a video interview. The video, paid fees, and a signed contract will place your puppy on hold. NO puppy will be placed on hold without all three of these! If no puppy in that litter fits what you are looking for, the fees will be transferred to the next litter. If you back out at any time, there will be no refund of fees.
Yes, all of our puppies are AKC pre-registered (we pay for registration). Most will come on limited registration with no breeding rights. If you wish breeding rights and we feel you will be a reputable breeder that honors our hard work on our breeding line, an additional fee is charged for those rights. We have a very strict policy on breeding without rights. See our contract.
All of our puppies will have tails docked and dew claws removed. If you choose to not have a tail docked, you must pay the full fee for a puppy up front. Yorkies without tails docked are harder to place. We follow AKC standards for tail docking. All puppies come with prepaid AKC limited (see note above) registration, prepaid AKC Reunite microchip, up to date puppy shots, vet health certificate, one year from date of birth, genetic health guarantee, Volhard's Puppy Aptitude testing, shot records, fecal tested, dewormed, heartworm medication started if 12 weeks old, Early Neurological Stimulation, Early Scent Introduction, socialization, and pre-spoiled. All puppies are reared in our homes.
We strive to give you the best information along with items to prevent Hypoglycemia for a new Yorkie puppy owner. We send out emails with loads of information. We also include much of that info in your take home folder. Your take home bag will include a sample of puppy food, a can of wet food, a few puppy pads, a blanket with litter mates and parents' smells, sugar water, a syringe of high calorie gel, and Honey Nut Cheerios. We may add other items.
We currently use Royal Canin X-Small Puppy and canned Puppy Appetite Stimulator. You will receive an email at time of signing your contract from Royal Canin with a discount code to order these items. If you choose to change food, you will need a two week supply of this food to transition to the new food.
Crate training: We do not crate any of our litters. We do provide a smaller area in our iris pens for sleeping. This is similar to crating. We are not against crate training as long as a puppy will not be left in a crate longer than 4 hours at a time. You can see the Iris pens we suggest under the "Our Favorite Items" tab.
No. We work on pee pad potty training from the time these babies are in the whelping bed until they leave our homes. We use the bell system of training. Your puppy will know what a potty pad is and know they should use it. None of our puppies are allowed to touch the ground outside until one week after all of their puppy shots. Therefore, potty training will initially be done in your home on pee pads with a transition to outside after all puppy shots. We will educate you on how to transition from pee pads to outside training. Yorkies are very smart and can pick this up quickly. The hardest part is consistency. They have very small bladders and will need frequent potty breaks until they grow. Keep in mind that once a puppy leaves our homes and are in totally new surroundings, they will have an adjustment period. It takes 30-90 days for a new puppy to adjust to your home. Puppies do not reach full adulthood until 2 years of age. Training is a lifelong event. Once they have had all of their puppy shots we recommend you find a great trainer in your area and continue their training., Well trained puppies make fantastic family members. Patience is a great virtue during this transition. As lifelong breeders, we are always here for questions.
Our lives get very busy when we have litters. We also have families and online stores that we manage. We get very little sleep keeping a close eye on these babies. We are full hands on with each litter. This being said, we do our best to send our weekly pictures/videos. We also try to post on Facebook on a daily basis. Please be patient with us while we tend to your baby. Follow us on FB @ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100070409149722 for updates.
Our Fees ($2300-3000) are based on each litters color, mating pairs, sex, and the economy. We have worked hard to establish our lines and take great pride in what we produce. We have paid very high prices for each one of our Yorkies. Although prices for supplies, veterinarian services, housing, etc have all risen, we have kept our fees within this range. Please take into consideration that breeding starts 2 years prior to a mating pair having their first litter and that we spend 24 hours a day for 9-12 weeks tending to your baby. Our time, like yours, is valuable. We have DNA/Health tested all of our breeding pairs. All of our Yorkies have regular General Vet and Reproductive Vet health checkups. Please do your research and compare apples to apples. You will find puppies that are cheaper, but you will also get what you pay for. Don't fall for the many scammers out there. We stand behind our breeding program.
We generally do not release a puppy until they are three pounds. This differs with each litter. Our general rule is to hold them until they are 9-12 weeks. The smaller ones may require a longer stay. We schedule their last shot and vet appointments long enough in advance that you will have ample time to arrange your schedule for pickup and your 72 hour vet health check. All pickups must be arranged no later than Sunday of the pickup week. Any puppy not picked up by Sunday of the allotted week will be charged a $50 late pickup fee.
Holding a puppy longer will asses a $50 a week fee even if this is one day of the week. This runs Sunday to Sunday. After arrangements have been made, and if time rolls to Monday of the following week, there will be an additional $100 fee and a $100 fee for each day after. In order for us to hold a puppy after the allotted pickup week, half of your balance must be paid in advance with the remainder and all accumulated holding fees paid prior to pickup. No puppy will leave our homes until all fees have been paid. Failure to pay as instructed will forfeit your contract and puppy will be placed back on the market.
If you are local to one of our kennels, you are welcome to drop off monies. We use Zelle and Cash only. We do not accept personal checks, money orders, PayPal, or cashier's checks. Final payment is due at pickup in cash. If you need to make payments from the time you select your puppy until pickup day, you are welcome to do so but this needs to be stated prior to signing a contract. Your contract will be amended to reflect payments. Everything must be in writing. ALL monies must be paid by pickup day. You can bring your final payment in cash to pickup. You will receive a Bill of Sale for any and all payments. NO puppy will leave our homes until all monies are paid.
